Email marketing. Worth it or nah?

I used to focus super hard on social media.

I chased followers and people in my Facebook Groups and pushed my yoga classes on there.

Did you know that social media has a <1% click-through/open rate?

So basically take the # of followers you have and times it by 0.01. That's how many people see your content on average.

Every time I had a class, I had to post on social media SO many times just to get 5 or 6 people to show up.

Meanwhile, emails get to your list 100% of the time and average an 20-30% open rate.

I know I’m a numbers nerd 🤓

All that time, I could've been collecting emails for each class and utilizing email marketing strategies to make it way easier to get enrollment into my classes.

And I know, email marketing seems like just one more thing to learn 😅

A yoga teacher slid into my DMs yesterday asking, "How do you grow your social media presence?"

While I normally don't respond to cold messages, I did this time.

I said, "Well, what is the purpose of wanting to grow your social media presence?"

She was VERY confused.

"To have more followers!"

I asked her, "What is the purpose of wanting more followers?"

She got very frustrated, claiming I was supposed to be someone who "helps people grow their business"

Which, hi, I am!

But chasing followers isn't how you grow a business.

If you have no clue WHY you're chasing followers, WHO you're trying to attract online, or WHAT you're attracting them to, you're simply...chasing followers.

A number on your iPhone is not an indication of your business's growth.

I offered her these questions to get clear on before she even touches social media...

1. What are you offering in your business in order to bring in cash flow?
2. How is that offering helping people reach their goals?
3. Who is that offering best suited for?

Once you're clear on those, start to think about social media (and other types of marketing) strategy.

If I had an answer for "how do I grow my social media presence" that could be answered in a DM, well dang I'd be rolling in cash.

There's no quick rule for how to grow an online business. There are methodical steps to take that take MANY things into consideration...

And it takes consistency, mindset growth, accountability, compassion, need I go on??

Every other Wednesday, I host a "Power Hour" for my clients in the Accelerator ⚡

It's a very informal, no agenda space where they show up with whatever they're working on that week and talk through challenges in their business.

I consider it "free flow" coaching. No set agenda. No set strategies.

Just me and my team helping my clients in the moment with what they're working through in their business.

Because just like our yoga practice, our business is a unique, ever-changing entity that doesn't fit into a box.

Because sometimes we don't need more information thrown at us.

Sometimes we need a safe space to work through the pains of implementation.

We need that space to be creative, talk it out, and feel supported outside of rigid structure.

Don't get me wrong, structure is great.

But we fall stagnant when that structure becomes so rigid we feel paralyzed from taking a step forward.

One of the core values of my programs is to never EVER make my clients feel like they're "one of the many."

Because they are anything but.

1️⃣Be aware of how much energy you’re expending online

2️⃣ Set physical boundaries between you and your phone during the day

3️⃣ Be intentional with who you follow/friend and what content you’re consuming
